Beam Me Up, Mr. Doohan, One Last Time!

James Doohan better know as Chief Engineer Motgomery "Scotty" Scott, from the classic 1966-69 Star Trek series, died July 20 at age 85. The cause was pneumonia and Alzheimer's. Upon Doohan's death, Star Trek's Leonard Nimoy (Spock) dubbed him "our miracle man. One of a kind. The real deal." Doohan had a brief stint on The Bold and the Beautiful in his golden years, and wrote a well-received 1996 memoir, Beam Me Up, Scotty! He had seven children - the last when he was 80.
(Paraphrased from the TV Guide Tribute written by Michael Logan).

I found this tribute very moving since my sister and I had only just been introduced to the orginal Star Trek TV series and have grown to like it.

Star Trek 'Facts'

1 Most of the series (that I have seen so far) consists either of Kirk being on trail for one reson or another,

2 OR a famous person calls Kirk pretending to need help so they can trap/kill him .

3 A combindation of 1 and 2.

4 The red shirts (except Scotty and a few other important people) ALWAYS die.

5 The crew, especially Kirk, need to wear longer shirts.
